Find out what the IRS has on you

See your IRS file.

The IRS keeps a coded record of your account — every return, payment, penalty, and notice, line by line. Most tax trouble is already written there before anyone calls you. We can pull that file and read it with you. Here’s a sample, so you can see how one reads — tap any line to decode it.

IRS ACCOUNT TRANSCRIPT — RECORD OF ACCOUNT
FORM 1040TAX YEAR 2022SAMPLE TAXPAYER Sample

Your return was processed and the tax on it posted to your account. This is the IRS’s starting number for you — every line after it is the IRS adding, charging, collecting, or pausing. If this line is missing for a year, the IRS has no return from you for that year. They notice.

After your return was filed, the IRS added more tax — from an exam, a correction, or income they received that your return didn’t show. This is often the line where trouble quietly starts, sometimes months before any letter about it makes sense.

The IRS mailed you a notice. This line records that it went out — the companion code tells us which notice and what it asked for. Notices carry response windows; a missed window becomes the next line in the file.

A payment you made was posted to your account. Proof of payment lives on this line — and sometimes a payment you know you sent isn’t here at all. Comparing your records against this ledger is how missing money gets found.

The IRS also keeps every W-2 and 1099 filed under your Social Security number — and its computers compare them to your return automatically. When the two don’t match, the file grows: more tax, penalties, notices. It happens to careful people. One of our clients lived exactly this: a company gave Annette Gunter and her husband one 1099 and turned a different one in to the IRS. The IRS believed its own copy — until we pulled the file, found the mismatch, and fixed it.

A federal tax lien is in play — the IRS’s legal claim against your property for an unpaid balance. A lien is a public record, and it changes what you can sell, borrow, or refinance. It also has a defined process for being released once the balance is addressed.

The IRS has paused active collection on the account — for now. It does not mean the balance is gone: interest keeps accruing, and the IRS can resume collection later. It’s a status to plan around, not a finish line.

Your file is already written. Read it before the IRS acts on it.

The question to ask every tax company

Licensed pro, or salesman?

When it comes to resolving issues with the IRS, you can’t afford to mess around — but you also can’t afford to get in bed with “sales rooms” masquerading as a professional tax office. There’s simply too much at stake. Here’s the difference, in plain terms:

THE SALES ROOM

Your situation gets picked up by a database somewhere, and you’re targeted as a “hot lead.” The national ads start. And here’s the industry’s dirty secret: almost all of your contact will be with a commissioned salesperson — a closer — whose mission is to close you.

That’s how those operations afford national television and radio: a sales system, worked very hard. Your case is a number in it.

THE LICENSED PROFESSIONAL

You talk to Robin Harris — a licensed Enrolled Agent, legally able to represent you in front of the IRS, who has done so for clients local and national for years. She reads your file first, tells you exactly what can be done, and then does it.

No commissioned closer. No endless turnover of associates who don’t know your name. One licensed professional, start to finish.

“Are you a licensed tax professional that is legally eligible to offer me tax advice — or are you a salesman?” — the question Robin tells every caller to ask, of anyone
Tax problem resolution

Whatever the letter says, there’s a door for it.

Eight problems walk into this office. Each one has a process — and your first step through every door is the same: we pull your file and read what the IRS actually has, before anyone decides anything.

01

Protection from asset seizure

Seizure is the IRS’s last resort — and it is a process, with notices and rights at every step before it. We step into that process on your side, early.

02

Protection from IRS levies

A levy takes money — from a bank account, from what customers owe you. Speed matters, and so does knowing exactly which release route fits your file.

03

Protection from wage garnishment

When the IRS takes part of every paycheck, the pressure is daily. We work to get the garnishment released and replaced with an arrangement you can actually live with.

04

Innocent spouse relief

If a tax debt traces to a spouse or former spouse — their income, their error — relief may exist for the part that isn’t yours. We review whether your situation fits.

05

Offer in Compromise help

An offer asks the IRS to accept less than the full balance. It is a documented financial case — not a negotiation trick — and it isn’t right for everyone. We’ll tell you plainly whether your file supports one.

06

Payroll tax protection

Payroll taxes are the IRS’s most aggressive collection area, and the debt can reach business owners personally. If your business is behind, walk through this door first.

07

Non-filed returns, done for you

Years behind? We pull what the IRS has on file for each missing year, rebuild your returns from the record, and file them — catching up from facts, not guesswork.

08

IRS representation, for you

Audits, notices, appeals: Robin represents you before the IRS as an Enrolled Agent. Our clients rarely have to do more than forward us the letter — we handle the talking.

Client stories

People like you, out the other side.

Every tax problem on this page arrived as a person first. Here is what some of them say now — in their own words.

THE LONG WAY BACK — ONE CLIENT’S STORY

“If you’re reading this, you’re probably where I was not too long ago — stressed out, embarrassed, and maybe even hopeless about your tax problems. For over a decade, I tried to ignore mine, burying my head in the sand, thinking maybe they’d just… go away. (Spoiler alert: they don’t.) Eventually, the IRS and Oklahoma Tax Commission came knocking — hard. My wages were garnished, my employer was notified, and I was humiliated.”

“Like a lot of desperate people, I fell for the slick radio and TV ads from Polston & Associates. They promised the moon — ‘We’ll make your tax debt disappear!’ — but what they delivered was absolutely nothing. … By the time I fired them, I was angrier at Polston than at the IRS.”

“Then I found Robin Harris at RLH Tax Services. What a difference. Robin is the real deal. She’s tough, straightforward, and honest — you won’t get empty promises or fairy tales about magically reducing your debt to zero. … Within six months of my first meeting with Robin, my case was resolved. She even prepared and filed my return, and I ended up with a tax and interest rebate on my back taxes.”

“Robin charged me a fair, flat fee and didn’t ask for the balance until the job was done. She always answered my calls or got back to me quickly. She explained everything clearly and never left me in the dark. … My only regret is that I didn’t call her sooner.”

“After years of fear, embarrassment, and frustration, I finally have peace of mind. Thanks to her, my IRS nightmares are finally over.”

— Michael Cox
“If you need tax help then don’t hesitate! Make that call now. Robin is professional, personable and really listens. She quickly handled the issues we faced which gave us some relief. Knowing everything was in her capable hands allowed us to pursue our lives and businesses without worrying about taxes. We fully recommend RLH Tax Services and would rate 5 of 5 stars.”
— Tracy
“We have been using Robin for a few years now. She got us out of a mess with the IRS when a company gave us one 1099 & turned a different one into the IRS. The lady really knows her job, I feel really confident in her doing our dealings with the taxes she knows what is best for what situations, and what will be the best way to file for you to get the best refund. Always helpful when I have a question or concern.”
— Annette Gunter

That mismatched 1099 is the flagged line in the sample file above — the IRS believed its copy until the file was pulled and read.

“As a small business owner, you can’t possibly know it all – when it came to dealing with the IRS, I didn’t know they weren’t going to keep jerking me around and running up the debt. It took one call to RHS to make it all end. I can’t recommend them enough!”
— Beth Menasco · 3 Geeks
“Robin took my case on took all the pressure off I have felt great since she started and has done an excellent job very nice person to talk to if u are in trouble with IRS she’s the one to hire thank you Robin.”
— Roy Ingram

Meet Robin

The scientist who became an Enrolled Agent.

Robin Harris grew up in Oklahoma from the age of eight, roofing and building houses alongside her self-employed father — work that teaches you to measure twice. She graduated second in her class at Tishomingo, earned a BS in Biological Sciences at Oklahoma State University, and spent 25 years as a research assistant at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation — a career built on reading records carefully and following the evidence wherever it leads.

Taxes came next: part-time in a tax office, then full-time — teaching tax law, preparing returns, managing staff, running multiple offices. What pushed her to sit for the Enrolled Agent exam was watching how the IRS treated the people she dealt with. She wanted the license that lets you stand on the other side of that table.

In 2016 she founded RLH Tax Services on three principles, in her own words: “tenacious representation, straightforward honesty, and a commitment to excellent service.” Her clients have called her “the most trusted tax professional in Oklahoma City.” She answers to a stricter test: your file, read right.

How it works

A flat fee. A straight process.

No hourly meter running while your case sits. No retainers fed into a sales system. Here is exactly how working with RLH runs, start to finish:

STEP 1

Book the free consultation

You talk with Robin — the licensed professional — not a salesperson. Bring your letters, unopened if that’s how they’ve been living. Leave knowing your options in plain English.

STEP 2

We pull your IRS file

With your written authorization, we get a copy of your IRS account record and read it line by line — the same coded file you just decoded above, this time with your name on it.

STEP 3

Your flat fee, quoted up front

One number, quoted before work begins — a fair flat fee for the whole job, not an hourly rate with a meter attached. You decide with the full picture in front of you.

STEP 4

Your case runs in the open

Documents, signatures, and messages live in your secure TaxDome client portal. You can watch your case move — no calling a call center to ask a stranger where things stand.

STEP 5

We deal with the IRS

Robin represents you — the calls, the letters, the meetings are hers to handle. You forward the mail that arrives; we do the talking, and we tell you straight how it’s going.

Beyond the emergency

When the letters stop, the planning starts.

Resolution is the front door, not the whole house. The same desk that reads IRS files also prepares, plans, and keeps your books — so next year’s file reads the way you want it to.

Tax preparation, done right

Returns prepared by the professional who reads IRS account files for a living — accurate, explained in plain English, and filed with the full record in mind. Questions answered, every year, without rushing you out the door.

Tax planning for real savings

Savings are planned, not stumbled into: income shifting and splitting, deferral strategies, and retirement and estate planning — decided while the year is still open, not discovered after it closes.

For small businesses

Accounting done for you, payroll services, starting a business smoothly, and strategic business coaching — your books and filings kept by the same desk that represents you if the IRS ever asks questions.

Already filed somewhere else?

Get a Second Look at your return.

We’ll review your already-filed return for deductions and credits you may have missed — and tell you straight whether an amended return is worth filing. If it’s right, you’ll hear that, too.

Questions, answered straight

Before you call, the honest answers.

Do I have to talk to the IRS myself?

No. As your Enrolled Agent, Robin represents you before the IRS — calls, letters, and meetings are handled for you. In most cases, our clients do little more than forward us the IRS letters that arrive.

Can you really see what the IRS has on me?

Yes. With your authorization, we can pull a copy of your IRS account transcript — the coded record of your account — plus the wage-and-income file the IRS holds under your name. It is often the fastest way to find out where you actually stand.

What does the consultation cost?

Nothing. Your first consultation is free — and it is with Robin, the licensed professional, not a salesperson. If we can help, you will get a flat fee quoted up front before any work begins.

I haven’t filed in years. Is it too late?

It’s later than you’d like — and it’s fixable. Unfiled returns are one of the most common reasons people come to us. We pull the IRS’s records for each missing year, rebuild your returns from them, and file. The first step is finding out exactly what’s missing.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Whatever the IRS has sent you — every letter, unopened or not — plus your most recent filed return if you have one. After your consultation, we’ll give you the exact list for your case. Don’t let a missing document keep you from starting; your IRS file fills most gaps.

I’m not in Oklahoma City. Can you still help?

Yes. Robin represents clients before the IRS anywhere in the country, and your secure client portal means documents, signatures, and updates move without an office visit. If you are local, our office is at 3037 NW 63rd Street in Oklahoma City.
